My first fish was a 13 lb blue channel catfish. I was about 6 or 7 years old. My father had took me to a local spillway, and we camped out over night there. We went fishing a few minutes after waking up. We hadn't been fishing long but a cat had bitten the bait on my pole. My dad said he couldn't get there to me fast enough, I couldn't reel it fast enough it was to tight and heavy for me. So I put the pole over my shoulder and walked up the bank to get my first fish. Man what a memory that is for me, there is many more but that was my first fish. My father was proud, but I don't know who was prouder me or him. Probally him. Just wish he was still here to have made many more memories like that one. But he is fishing in that great lake in the sky haveing a blast, and outfishing everyone!

My first fish was a snapper bluefish on a cane pole... using a hook, bobber, splitshot and a silver-side minnow as bait ... caught it off the pier in my back yard where I grew up..... I was about 5 years old ... I don't think it was more then 8 or 9 inches long but It was a whopper to me!!! .... I'll never forget it ...
That was the start of the whole fishing craze for me!!
